Descripción:Isocolumbin is a natural compound that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against the human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231. The active form of Isocolumbin is columbin, which can be isolated from the plant Stephania dahurica. It was found to have hypoglycemic effects in an untreated group of rats and also showed significant cytotoxicity against chronic cough cells. Isocolumbin has been shown to bind with high affinity to dopamine D2 receptors and serotonin 5-HT2A receptors, which are involved in the regulation of numerous physiological functions including mood, appetite, sleep, cognition, and pain sensation.
