Descripción:Iridol is a histone deacetylase inhibitor that can be used to treat cancer and inflammatory diseases. Iridol is an HDAC inhibitor, which means it inhibits an enzyme that regulates the activity of histones. Histones are proteins that help organize DNA in chromatin, and regulate gene expression. Iridol has been shown to inhibit the activity of α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in HL-60 cells, as well as serine proteases such as cathepsin D and CXCR4 (cytokine-chemokine receptor 4). This drug also has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity and lower cholesterol levels in animal models of type 2 diabetes.
