Descripción:5-Iodovanillin is a benzofuran derivative that has been synthesized by a cross-coupling reaction between an aryl chloride and an organotin compound. This reaction was performed using palladium as the catalyst. 5-Iodovanillin has been shown to be a highly efficient method for the synthesis of hydroxamic acids, which are used in cancer therapy. 5-Iodovanillin also has potential use in treating infectious diseases, such as tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS.
