JDTic 2HCl is a benzaldehyde derivative that can be used as a fluorine-18 labelled positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracer for oncology. JDTic 2HCl binds to the dopamine transporter, which is expressed on cells in the human brain, and detects radiation emitted from positron-emitting isotopes. The binding of JDTic 2HCl to the dopamine transporter causes a decrease in the number of radioactive particles that are detected by PET detectors.
