Descripción:UK 370106 is a matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor, which inhibits the activity of enzymes that break down collagen and other proteins in the extracellular matrix. This inhibition leads to a reduction in the production of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and other inflammatory cytokines. UK 370106 has been shown to inhibit both proenzyme MMP-1 and active enzyme MMP-1 in cancer cell lines and monoclonal antibody-producing cells. This drug also synergistically interacts with colchicine and 5-fluorouracil, two chemotherapeutic drugs used in cancer therapy. UK 370106 also has been shown to inhibit collagen degradation by human neutrophils, thereby preventing inflammation.
