Lisinopril related compound A is a white crystalline powder. It is a pharmaceutical intermediate that is used to produce lisinopril, an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. The product has been shown to have an efficiency of at least 98% in the analysis of the substance and impurities in lisinopril. Lisinopril related compound A can be synthesized by reacting benzothiadiazine with hydrochlorothiazide in the presence of an acid catalyst. This reaction produces a linear product, which can then be converted into lisinopril by reacting it with hydrogen chloride gas.
