Descripción:Lamotrigine is a drug used to treat epilepsy and bipolar disorder. It is a phenyltriazine that is structurally related to carbamazepine. Lamotrigine-13C3 is a labeled form of lamotrigine that can be used in pharmacokinetic studies. Lamotrigine-13C3 has been shown to have similar uptake, distribution, and excretion properties as the unlabeled form when it was administered to mice. The chromatographic, electrospray ionization mass spectrometric (LC-MS/MS) method for the determination of lamotrigine was developed and validated for use in clinical practice. This drug also exhibits antifungal activities against Candida albicans and other fungi.
