Descripción:Lansoprazole sulfone N-oxide is a sulfone that is the active form of lansoprazole. It is used in the treatment of oesophagitis and reflux oesophagitis. Lansoprazole sulfone N-oxide binds to bacterial proteins, which leads to the inhibition of bacterial growth. This drug has been shown to be effective against both duodenal and gastric ulcers. Lansoprazole sulfone N-oxide also inhibits acid secretion by binding to the H+/K+ ATPase pump on parietal cells, thereby inhibiting hydrogen ion secretion into the stomach.
