Levamlodipine besylate works by blocking calcium flow through the muscle cells in your heart and blood vessels, which causes them to relax. This decreases the resistance in your arteries, which reduces blood pressure. There are many drugs that can cause a reaction if taken with levamlodipine besylate, including losartan (Cozaar). The most common side effect reported is headache, but other possible side effects include dizziness and tiredness.
