Descripción:Loperamide is a drug that has been approved for the treatment of diarrhea. It is a synthetic opioid that binds to opioid receptors in the gut, slowing intestinal motility and increasing the time food stays in the stomach. Loperamide has not shown long-term toxicity or any significant cardiac effects. It also does not affect matrix production or polymerase chain reaction (PCR) activity. Loperamide is a chemical inhibitor of monoethyl ethers, which are used in non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Loperamide can be used for the treatment of bowel disease with few drug interactions and disease activity.
