Lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide is a chemical species that is commonly used in the synthesis of lithium fluoride. Lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide has a viscosity that is very low in comparison to other compounds. It also has a low redox potential and high salt transport properties. Lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide reacts with hydrogen fluoride to form lithium, which can then be used as an electrode material for rechargeable batteries. The molecular modeling of lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide shows that it has a tendency to form dimers. This reaction solution can be analyzed using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
