1-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrrole is a phenolic compound with antioxidative activity. It has been shown to inhibit the oxidation of fatty acids in the presence of chloride, which may be due to its ability to scavenge free radicals. 1-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-1H-pyrrole also has been shown to have an electrochemical effect on phosphatidylethanolamine and fatty acids. Reaction products of this substance are choline, amines, and oxidation products. This compound also can be used for the production of polymers through electropolymerization.
