6-Methyl-2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of heterocyclic compounds. It has been shown to possess significant antiproliferative activity and inhibitory effects on cell proliferation in vitro, specifically in k562 cells. 6-Methyl-2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde has also been shown to have cytotoxic effects against lymphocytic leukemia cells and breast cancer cells. The structure of this molecule has been determined by X-ray crystallography and NMR spectroscopy.
