Descripción:Methyl-2,4-dimethoxybenzoate is a compound with two structural isomers. It has been found to have chemopreventive effects in rodents and is thought to be an activating agent for carcinogens. Methyl-2,4-dimethoxybenzoate has been tested as an antifeedant against weevil larvae and has potent inhibitory activity against the growth of Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This chemical also showed potent inhibitory activity against the growth of human leukemia cells.
