• Descripción: 1-Methyl-4-piperidone is a potent inhibitor of infectious diseases. It has inhibitory properties and is used to treat infections caused by bacteria. 1-Methyl-4-piperidone inhibits the enzyme thymidine phosphorylase, which is involved in purine nucleotide biosynthesis. This inhibition prevents the synthesis of DNA and RNA, leading to cell death. 1-Methyl-4-piperidone also inhibits the production of proton pumps that maintain acidity in cells, which prevents proliferation of carcinoma cells. The mechanism of action for 1-methyl 4 piperidone is similar to that of trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (TFMS) and hydrochloric acid (HCl).
