Descripción:5-Methylfurfural is an organic compound that is produced from the dehydration of fructose or sucrose. It can be used as an analytical method for 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (5-HMF). The matrix effect on the reaction mechanism and surface methodology are important factors when analyzing 5-HMF. Oxidation catalysts, such as palladium on carbon, can be used to produce 5-HMF.
