4-Methoxy phenethylamine (4MPEA) is a natural compound that has been found to have biological properties. It is a precursor of dopamine and norepinephrine, which are neurotransmitters in the brain. 4MPEA is an irreversible enzyme inhibitor with a hydroxyl group. The kinetic data for this compound has been determined by nitrogen atoms. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is involved in the regulation of neuronal excitability and plays an important role in preventing seizures. 4MPEA may have potential as a drug for treating epilepsy or other neurological disorders.
