4-Methoxyazobenzene is a molecule that has been synthesized through the use of an experimental method. This molecule is activated by UV radiation and has a nonpolar surface due to its lack of polar functional groups. 4-Methoxyazobenzene absorbs UV light in the range of 230 to 260 nm, which leads to its activation. The UV light converts the molecule into a radical form, which then reacts with other molecules. It can also be used for chelation reactions because it contains a chelate ring. In addition, it does not require heat or light for the reaction to occur and is stable at room temperature.
