2-(4-Methylphenyl)quinoline-4-carboxylic acid is an oil solution that is soluble in chloroform, insoluble in water and ethanol. It has a molecular weight of 244.3 g/mol and belongs to the class of organic compounds. 2-(4-Methylphenyl)quinoline-4-carboxylic acid has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on intestinal chloride secretion, which may be due to its ability to bind to G proteins in the intestine. This compound is also used as a biochemical reagent for titration, physiochemical studies and other tasks. 2-(4-Methylphenyl)quinoline-4-carboxylic acid is found in subcutaneous tissue, bile and fatty acids from animals.
