4-Methyl-2-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylic acid is a medicine that belongs to the class of phenylthiazoles. It is used in peptic ulcer treatment and to relieve the pain and inflammation of rheumatoid arthritis. 4-Methyl-2-(3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl)-1,3-thiazole-5-carboxylic acid inhibits the production of gastric acid by acting on the H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) in the gastric mucosa. This agent also blocks inflammatory reactions by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
