4-[(E)-(4-Methoxyphenyl)diazenyl]benzene-1,3-diamine is a quinoline derivative with a redox potential of +0.75 V. It is soluble in water and can be used as an oxidizing agent, but it also has the ability to reduce certain substances. 4-[(E)-(4-Methoxyphenyl)diazenyl]benzene-1,3-diamine can be used for organic syntheses and for reducing quinoline derivatives to their corresponding amines. This compound is acidic and reacts with alkaline compounds such as hydroxides and halides, forming salts.
