Descripción:
Methylpiperidine-2-carboxylic acid hydrochloride is a hypertonic agent that has been shown to reduce blood pressure in hypertensive animals. It also has an antihypertensive effect in humans and causes vasodilation by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme phosphodiesterase. Methylpiperidine-2-carboxylic acid hydrochloride is used as a chiral building block for the synthesis of quaternary ammonium salts and esters, which can be used as antihypertensives. It also has been used in pharmacological studies with drugs such as isoniazid and quinine.
