Información del producto
Methyl 2-hydroxy-3-phenylpropanoate is an antibacterial agent that belongs to the group of imidazole derivatives. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in vitro with a minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 4-16 μM and a maximal bactericidal concentration (MBC) of 16-32 μM. Methyl 2-hydroxy-3-phenylpropanoate was shown to be more potent than cholic acid, which is structurally similar, but it had no effect on the human cell line MCF7. The mechanism of action is not known, but it may be due to methyl 2-hydroxy-3-phenylpropanoate's ability to inhibit c1-4 alkyl biosynthesis. This agent also has a functional theory that suggests that it inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to peptidoglycan precursors. Furthermore, methyl 2-hydoxy 3 phenyl propano
