2-Methoxy-5-methylsulfonylbenzoic acid is an organic compound that can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. It has been used to synthesize diagnostic agents and drugs such as isradipine and sarpogrelate hydrochloride. 2-Methoxy-5-methylsulfonylbenzoic acid is also used as an intermediate in the synthesis of bortezomib, a drug that inhibits the proteasome.
