3-Methylamino-but-2-enoic acid ethylester is a synthetic amide that belongs to the class of calcium carbonate. It is a potent inhibitor of fatty acid ester desaturase, which converts saturated fats into unsaturated fats. 3-Methylamino-but-2-enoic acid ethylester has been shown to have a positive effect on the efficiency of liquid chromatography in separating polyols and fatty acids. 3-Methylamino-but-2-enoic acid ethylester also has an inhibitory effect on the growth of cells in culture, and it has been shown to be effective against environmental pollution.
