2-Methoxy-5-(4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-1,3,2-dioxaborolan-2-yl)pyridine (MTDPB) is a ligand that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. MTDPB binds to the ATP site on the enzyme mTORC2 and inhibits cellular proliferation by blocking mTORC2 activation. This inhibition leads to a reduction in cell number and size. Additionally, MTDPB has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of prostaglandin E2 and cytokines such as IL6 and TNFα. MTDPB may be used for the treatment of cancers such as colon cancer or breast cancer.
