Descripción:(R)-2-Methylmorpholine is a protease inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit HIV-1 protease, a class of enzymes that are involved in the replication of HIV-1. It is used as a research tool to study the structure and function of HIV-1 protease. (R)-2-Methylmorpholine binds to the active site of the enzyme by forming hydrophobic interactions with residues in the active site. This binding leads to an inhibitory effect on ligand binding, protein synthesis, and other cellular processes. Molecular modeling studies have shown that (R)-2-Methylmorpholine inhibits HIV-1 protease by blocking the catalytic cleft and preventing access to substrate residues.
