Descripción:Mibefradil is a drug that blocks the L-type calcium channel. It is used to treat acute coronary syndrome and chronic stable angina. Mibefradil has been shown to have cardiac effects including prolongation of the QT interval, which can lead to ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation. The drug is also a potent antihypertensive agent, which may be due to its ability to block potassium channels. Mibefradil has been shown to cause tubulointerstitial injury in experimental animals treated with this drug, as well as papillary muscle dysfunction and cardiomyopathy. This drug has been shown to be effective in treating hypertension, although it can cause cardiac problems such as myocardial infarcts and arrhythmias.
