Descripción:4-Methoxyphenylacetaldehyde is an inhibitor drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to bacterial DNA. The use of deuterium isotope showed a kinetic effect at low concentrations that increased with concentration. This effect was found to be more pronounced in the presence of chloride ions, which may indicate that it binds to the hydroxyl group on the DNA molecule. The isolation yield was found to be dependent on the type strain and enzymatic reaction used. 4-Methoxyphenylacetaldehyde has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It binds to bacterial DNA and inhibits enzyme reactions involved in cell metabolism.
