Methyl 10-chloro-10-oxodecanoate is an enzyme inhibitor that binds to the active site of peptidases and blocks their activity. It also has a lipolytic effect on adipocytes, leading to increased release of fatty acids and glycerol. Methyl 10-chloro-10-oxodecanoate has been shown to interact with the c1-4 alkyl group of proteins, which may lead to its necrotic cell death. This compound has been shown to inhibit the kinase domain of various proteins, including pai-1 (phosphatidylinositol 3'-kinase).
