Descripción

Mangostin is a natural product that has been shown to have antioxidant properties. It inhibits the mitochondrial functions of the squamous cell line and wild-type strain of S. cerevisiae by binding to basic proteins. Mangostin also has antibacterial efficacy against bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This compound has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of dextran sulfate, which is a polymer involved in bacterial growth. Mangostin also has antiinflammatory activity and can be used as an enzyme inhibitor.
