Methyl(triphenylphosphoranylidene)acetate also inhibits other enzymes such as cytochrome p450 and mycobacterium tuberculosis esterases. The reaction mechanism for methyl(triphenylphosphoranylidene)acetate is not yet known but it may involve the formation of an intramolecular hydrogen bond between the NH group and the oxygen atom on C3.
