(1R,3R)-Methyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-2-chloroacetyl-1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-9H-pyrido[3,4-b]indole-3-carboxylate is a synthetic molecule that has been used as a dietary supplement. It is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor and has been shown to increase the blood flow to the penis by blocking an enzyme that breaks down cGMP in the corpus cavernosum. The effects of this drug are not affected by food intake or exercise. The mass analyzer is used to identify and quantify potential contaminants in the sample. This particular compound can be identified using GC/MS analysis with two different peaks of unknown origin: one at m/z 224 and another at m/z 244.
