• Descripción: 3-Methylcrotonyl glycine is a metabolite of carnitine that has been shown to be an effective marker for detection of creatine kinase (CK) deficiency in patients with infantile mitochondrial encephalomyopathy. 3-Methylcrotonyl glycine is used for the diagnosis of metabolic disorders such as fatty acid oxidation defects, enzyme deficiencies, and inherited metabolic disorders. 3-Methylcrotonyl glycine can be used for the diagnosis of various symptoms including muscle weakness, fatigue, developmental delay, and seizures in children. The sensitivity of 3-methylcrotonyl glycine as a biomarker can be increased by using gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry.
