Descripción:Calophyllum inophyllum is a plant that grows in the West Indies and is used for its medicinal properties. It has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against human pathogens, including Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Helicobacter pylori. The hexane extract from C. inophyllum has also been shown to have anticancer activity, as well as an ability to inhibit cancer cell proliferation. 11-Methyldodecanol (11MD) is a fatty acid found in the acetate extract of C. inophyllum. It has been shown to be effective against inflammatory diseases and autoimmune diseases, including arthritis and diabetes mellitus type 1. 11MD also shows bioassay activity against human malignant cells and can be used for diagnosis of disease progression or recurrence.
