4-[(3-Methylphenyl)amino]-3-pyridinesulfonamide is a benzene derivative that can exist as either the cis or trans isomers. It has been found to be an effective catalyst for ammonolysis, a chemical reaction in which ammonia is used to break down organic compounds. The cis isomer has been shown to be more stable than the trans isomer at higher temperatures and pH values. 4-[(3-Methylphenyl)amino]-3-pyridinesulfonamide can also form dimers and hydrogen bonds with other molecules, which may account for its supramolecular properties. This molecule's conformation may also change depending on the solvents it is mixed with.
