Methyl 3-amino-5-bromo-thiophene-2-carboxylate is a synthetic compound that belongs to the group of carboxylic acids. It is used in organic chemistry for cross coupling reactions, such as Suzuki and Raupach-Hochstetter reactions. Methyl 3-amino-5-bromo-thiophene-2-carboxylate is particularly suitable for the synthesis of substituted carboxylic acids with high functional groups, such as fluoro-, chloro-, bromo-, cyano-, nitro-, and amide groups. This compound can be used as a fluorescent probe in liquid chromatography and has been shown to be effective in mediating the anion exchange of carboxylic acids.
