Descripción:4-Methyl-5-formylthiazole is a synthetic molecule with in vitro antifungal activity. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger, two species of fungi that are responsible for the majority of opportunistic infections in immunocompromised patients. 4-Methyl-5-formylthiazole is a nucleophilic molecule that undergoes electrophilic substitution reactions, which makes it an efficient method for generating antifungal agents. The synthesis of this compound can be achieved through the condensation of methyl formate and thiourea, followed by treatment with chloride ion to produce the desired product. 4-Methyl-5-formylthiazole is also fluorescent and has electron deficient properties, which makes it useful for diagnosis and molecular modelling.
