The functional groups of (methanesulphonyl)acetonitrile are nitro and aryl halide, which are important for its optical properties. This drug also has stereoisomers, which form due to tautomers, or structural isomers. Solid phase microextraction can be used to extract this drug from blood samples because it's soluble in organic solvents.
