4-(4-Methylpiperazin-1-yl)benzonitrile (4MPBZ) is a drug that belongs to the class of pathway inhibitors. It has been shown to inhibit the conversion of glycogen to glucose, which may be due to its inhibition of phosphofructokinase. 4MPBZ also inhibits the reaction time for a resonator and can be used in an eclipsing experiment. This amorphous drug has been shown to have an effect on body mass index, and it may be helpful in treating obesity when taken over a long period of time. Optical and X-ray data show that 4MPBZ has no effect on cell immunity, but it does have an effect on fetal heart rate.
