Descripción

1-(4-Methoxybenzoyl)-piperazine is an efficient and selective monoacylating agent for the acylation of amines. It can be used in organic synthesis as a building block for the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, dyestuffs, and other chemicals. This compound is synthesized by reacting ethylenediamine with piperazine in the presence of a catalytic amount of aluminum chloride. The yield is high and reactions run smoothly without side reactions. The 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)piperazine product can be further reacted with various acyl halides to give desired monoacylated products.
