Methyl 4-amino-3-bromobenzoate is a benzodiazepine derivative that is used as an anxiolytic, sedative, and muscle relaxant. It has also been shown to have anti-convulsant properties. Methyl 4-amino-3-bromobenzoate can be synthesized from the corresponding amino acid. The structure of this compound is similar to that of diazepam, but it does not bind to the benzodiazepine receptor. Methyl 4-amino-3-bromobenzoate has been shown to inhibit protein-protein interactions between cellular proteins by dimerizing them, which may be related to its ability to induce cancer cell death.
