Información del producto
2-Methylbenzo[d]oxazol-6-ol is a peroxy radical chain that has been reported to have cytotoxic effects on human breast cancer cells. It is able to react with chloride gas in the presence of hydrogen chloride to form 2,4-dichlorobenzoyl peroxide, which may be responsible for its anticancer activity. This compound also inhibits the production of estrogen by binding to its receptor and exhibits anti-estrogenic effects in vivo. The anti-estrogenic properties of 2-methylbenzo[d]oxazol-6-ol are due to competitive inhibition of the estrogen receptor. This mechanism has been confirmed using an assay that measures the ability of estrogen to activate transcription from a reporter gene containing an estrogen response element.
