Descripción:b-Mangostin is a natural compound that has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cultured human cancer cells. It also induces autophagy and apoptosis in these cells. The anti-cancer effects of b-mangostin may be due to its ability to inhibit the synthesis of fatty acids and inhibit cellular lipogenesis. The compound has also been shown to be effective in treating metabolic disorders such as diabetes, obesity, and hyperlipidemia. The mechanism of action for this effect is not fully understood, but it is thought that b-mangostin may inhibit the activity of the enzyme acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACC).
