Descripción:Morpholin-2-ol hydrochloride is a single enantiomer of the racemic drug, loxoprofen. It has been shown to have optical activity, with a specific rotation of +12°. The optical purity of the compound is 98%. Morpholin-2-ol hydrochloride is also an activated form of loxoprofen, which may be due to its ability to undergo nucleophilic substitution reactions. This drug has mutagenic activities and can induce modifications in bacterial DNA. It also inhibits the growth of Chinese hamster cells in vitro and induces mutations in vivo in rats.
