This reaction may be due to its conformational properties, which are similar to those of polystyrene. Methyl propargyl ether can also react with fatty acids, leading to metabolic disorders. In addition, methyl propargyl ether has been shown to have antimicrobial properties against infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and malaria.
