Descripción:
6-Methyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4(1H,3H)-dione is an organic compound that is used as a reagent in the synthesis of other compounds. It is also used as a food additive to prevent the growth of bacteria. This compound can be prepared by nitration of potassium hydroxide with nitric acid and hydrolysis of the resulting nitroparaffin. The product consists mainly of potassium dithiophosphate and hydroxyamino derivatives. The yield varies from 30% to 50%.
