Descripción:Methyl blue is a dye that is used for the treatment of wastewater. It is also used in adsorption experiments to measure the surface area of materials. Methyl blue has significant cytotoxicity, especially when combined with other compounds such as synergistic effect. The fluorescence intensity of methyl blue is proportional to the concentration of DNA and RNA molecules in the sample, which makes it useful as a fluorescent probe for biochemical analysis. In addition, it can be used as a marker for cotton and toxicity studies. Methyl blue reacts with the reaction solution and turns into greenish-blue color if there are nucleic acids present in the solution.
