Z-N-Methylglycine is an undecapeptide that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro. It was found to have a potent cytotoxicity against colon cancer cells and other types of cancer cells. Z-N-Methylglycine inhibits the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, which is involved in cell proliferation and differentiation. This molecule also blocks the synthesis of anions, which may be responsible for its anticancer activity. Z-N-Methylglycine can be synthesized stepwise from commercially available starting materials. The yields are high and the product does not contain any impurities.
