Descripción

(4-Methoxy-1-naphthyl)boronic acid is a boronate ester that can be used as a cross-coupling reagent in organic synthesis. It can be prepared by the reaction of methanes, dimethyl ester, and acid dimethyl ester with phenylboronic acid. The compound undergoes demethylation when treated with halogens and methylmagnesium. It also undergoes photochromic reactions when irradiated by light. (4-Methoxy-1-naphthyl)boronic acid reacts with a variety of electrophiles to form products including alcohols, ethers, epoxides, chloroformates, isocyanates, carboxylic acids, and amines. This compound also catalyzes the formation of branched chain compounds.
